The Western Scheldt and its approach routes are part of the VTS's defined operational area. This area extends over 150 kilometers: from the Belgian-French border across the Western Scheldt to the Kallo lock and Wintam, and on the other side, the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal near the Meulestede Bridge.
